Our History
AECOM began when a small group of employees from design and engineering firms shared a vision: to create a leading company focused on making the world better.
Formed through the merger of five companies, AECOM officially became an independent company in 1990, though our roots extend back over 120 years through our predecessor firms. Since then, more than 50 companies have joined our organization, and in 2007, we became a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange.
