- Launched Kuwait’s first insurance mobile application for iPhone
- Became the first insurer in Kuwait to receive “AA” ratings from both S&P and A.M. Best
- Celebrated 50 years of operations
- Invested in Alliance Insurance Company as an associate company
2020
- Acquired a significant stake in yallacompare
- Acquired a majority stake in Gulf Takaful through GIG-Kuwait
- Acquired a majority stake in Gulf Warranties in Saudi Arabia
- Signed an agreement to acquire AXA Gulf insurance operations in the Gulf
2021
- Successfully completed the acquisition of AXA Gulf operations
- Increased GIG’s paid-up share capital
- Issued KD 60 million Tier 2 bonds, marking the first perpetual bond issued by an insurer in Kuwait
