Our Journey

Hyatt was founded in 1957 by Jay Pritzker as a small motor lodge near Los Angeles International Airport. From the beginning, our focus has been on bringing people together and caring for them. Today, Hyatt has grown into a global hospitality leader, operating over 1,450 hotels and resorts in more than 80 countries, with 30+ brands under the World of Hyatt portfolio.
