About Us
Pakistan Islamia Higher Secondary School (PIHSS), Sharjah—formerly known as Pakistan Muslim High School—was founded by Mr. Mahmood Akhtar Kiyani in September 1974. The school was established under the guidance and patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammad Al-Qasimi, the ruler of Sharjah and a member of the Supreme Council of the UAE.
The journey started with just 150 students at the Old Al-Qasimiah Camp. The initial Board of Governors was led by Dr. Ghulam Hussain Jaffer, with Mr. Gulzar Ahmed Qureshi serving as the secretary.
In 1977, the school moved to its current campus, thanks to a generous land donation from His Highness Sheikh Muhammad Al-Qasimi, a member of the Supreme Council and the Ruler of Sharjah. With this, the school began a new chapter, becoming a Higher Secondary institution, and a new Board of Governors was formed under the leadership of Mr. Abdul Rehman Bukhatir. Group Captain Sulaiman Kiyani (late) was appointed as Principal, and Mr. Saeed-ur-Rehman took over as principal in 1978, serving for a long and successful decade.
In 1990, the school came under the management of the Consulate General of Pakistan. His Excellency Aftab Hussain Syed became the Chairman of the newly established Board of Governors. Under his leadership, the school saw significant growth in student enrollment and overall development. Today, Mr. Zahid Hussain serves as the Principal.
