About Company
Sunset Hospitality Group (SHG) was founded in 2011 by Antonio Gonzalez and Ahmad Hafez with a shared vision: to create unique and memorable experiences worldwide through diverse hospitality concepts. From the very beginning, SHG positioned itself as an industry pioneer, delivering exceptional experiences that set new standards in hospitality.
Starting with Spanish restaurants like Tapeo and El Sur, and specialty properties including Rare, Chic, Regina, and Story, SHG quickly built a reputation for creating unforgettable experiences.
In 2016, SHG expanded into the daylife sector with Azure Beach, followed by DRIFT Dubai in 2017, and the mega nightclub Stage in 2018. That same year, SHG began its international expansion, opening properties in Kuwait, Bahrain, and across the UAE.
In 2019, the Group launched Mood Lounge and entered markets like the UK and Saudi Arabia. By 2021, SHG introduced 10 new brands, including SUSHISAMBA, AURA Skypool, and launched its first hotel in Bodrum under METT Hotels and Resorts, expanding its portfolio to over 30 properties.
2022 saw new openings including DREAM, Garden of Dream, L’Amo Bistro Del Mare, Attiko, and the highly anticipated MOTT 32.
Continuing its global growth, SHG became a majority stakeholder in Maximal Concepts Holding in 2024, one of Asia’s most awarded hospitality groups, strengthening its presence in USA, Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam.
In Europe, SHG has expanded with lifestyle-driven concepts and hotels, including brands like Amélie, SACHI, LUUM in London, and established a new headquarters in Barcelona. Additional properties in Milan, Ibiza, Montenegro, and Lisbon showcase SHG’s commitment to authentic, innovative hospitality experiences.
Today, Sunset Hospitality Group proudly operates over 100 properties in 26 countries, continuing its mission to deliver imaginative, high-quality experiences across the globe.
