At The Espresso Lab, coffee is more than just a drink — it is a passion and a craft. Founded by Emirati entrepreneur Ibrahim Al Mallouhi, the company was created with a deep love for specialty coffee and a commitment to quality, creativity, and authentic coffee experiences.

From the beginning, the goal has been simple: to serve exceptional coffee made with care, precision, and attention to detail. Every cup reflects the team’s dedication to craftsmanship and innovation.

As the brand continues to grow, The Espresso Lab remains focused on exploring new ideas and improving the specialty coffee experience. Through advanced brewing methods, modern technology, and seasonal coffee selections, the company introduces customers to unique flavors and memorable coffee moments.

The Espresso Lab also aims to create a welcoming space where coffee lovers, friends, and families can connect and enjoy high-quality coffee together.

How the Journey Began

Founder Ibrahim Al Mallouhi discovered his love for coffee at a young age while watching his grandmother carefully roast traditional Arabic coffee. Those early experiences taught him to appreciate the art, aroma, and flavor of coffee.

As Dubai’s coffee culture grew, Ibrahim searched for a deeper and more authentic coffee experience. In 2010, during a visit to New York, he discovered a specialty coffee shop that completely changed his perspective on coffee. Inspired by this experience, he began exploring specialty coffee around the world.

Over the next five years, he traveled to different countries, visiting coffee shops and learning about coffee production and brewing techniques. He also completed professional coffee training at Bellissimo Coffee Advisors in Oregon, becoming a certified barista and coffee professional.

His journey took him to coffee-producing countries such as Vietnam and Ethiopia, where he worked closely with farmers to better understand the coffee process from farm to cup.

To turn his vision into a successful business, Ibrahim later completed an Executive MBA at CASS Business School in London. With a strong vision, passion, and commitment to quality, The Espresso Lab was officially launched in Dubai.
