Our client is a dynamic firm with global reach, seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join their finance team and support day-to-day accounting operations.
Role Overview
As Junior Accountant, you will support the finance team with daily bookkeeping, data entry, and transaction processing across one or more entities, while also providing support on reporting, audit, and controls work. This role is suited to someone comfortable working with multi-currency transactions in a fast-paced financial services environment, with systems expertise in QuickBooks, Xero, Airtable, and Joiin.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily bookkeeping and data entry: recording invoices, receipts, payments, and other financial transactions.
- Support bank and account reconciliations across multi-currency accounts; monitor daily cash movements.
- Assist with maintaining the general ledger and posting journal entries.
- Support month-end and year-end close tasks, including preparation of supporting schedules.
- Support the preparation of investor performance reporting, under the guidance of senior accountants.
- Support external audit and tax processes by gathering documentation and preparing supporting schedules as directed.
- Support the maintenance of internal controls and accounting policies, helping ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS and regulatory requirements.
- Organize and file supporting documentation for transactions, audits, and tax processes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accounting systems (QuickBooks, Xero, Airtable, Joiin, Excel/Google Sheets).
- Flag discrepancies or unusual transactions to senior team members.
- Provide general administrative and ad-hoc analytical support to the finance team as needed.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licence in good standing.
- Experience handling multi-currency entities/accounts and managing portfolios/entities with assets of USD 3-5 Million per month.
- Proficiency with accounting systems and tools: QuickBooks, Xero, Airtable, and Joiin.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Ability to work under deadlines and manage repetitive tasks reliably.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred:
- Experience with automated reconciliation tools, API integrations, and workflow automation.
- Familiarity with trading platforms, brokers, derivatives, or foreign-exchange exposures.
- Experience in a global (cross-border) trading or investment environment.
