Job Description

Accountant – Family Business Structure

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and accounting documentation.
  • Manage and reconcile petty cash transactions.
  • Handle payments and reconciliations for labor suppliers, vendors, and service providers.
  • Record, review, and reconcile retail sales transactions and daily cash collections.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations and accounting standards.
  • Monitor expenses and support budget preparation.
  • Reconcile supplier and customer accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with auditors, banks, and external stakeholders as required.
  • Prepare management reports and provide financial insights to support business decisions.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold financial controls and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of accounting experience.
  • Previous experience working in a family business environment is mandatory.

  • Petty Cash Management
  • Labor Supplier Payments and Reconciliation
  • Retail Transactions and Cash Handling
  • Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
  • Bank Reconciliation
  • VAT Compliance and Filing
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Language Requirements

  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).
  • Fluent in Tagalog or Arabic.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in retail, trading, FMCG, hospitality, or multi-business family-owned groups.
  • Professional certifications such as ACCA, CMA, CPA, or equivalent will be an advantage.
