Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Accountant role based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, supporting the trading activities within the Lutfi Group of Companies. The accountant will handle day-to-day financial transactions, including recording purchases and sales, reconciling bank and ledgers, and ensuring timely and accurate posting of entries related to trading operations. The role includes preparing invoices, monitoring accounts receivable and payable, managing supplier and customer statements, and assisting with inventory valuation and cost analysis. The accountant will support month-end and year-end closing, prepare financial reports, and assist with audits and compliance with local regulations. The position also involves coordinating with internal departments and external stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and maintain robust financial controls.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in core accounting functions, including general ledger management, accounts receivable and payable, bank reconciliation, and financial reporting.
- Experience in the trading or wholesale industry, with strong understanding of inventory accounting, cost of goods sold, and margin analysis.
- Skill in using accounting and ERP software, as well as MS Excel for data analysis, reporting, and reconciliation.
- Knowledge of UAE financial regulations, tax requirements (such as VAT), and standard auditing practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail capabilities, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Relevant academic background, such as a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA) are an advantage.
- Prior experience in a similar accounting role, preferably within trading, retail, or manufacturing environments in the Gulf region.
