Role overview:
The role ensures timely and accurate accounting of settlements with counterparties, control of mutual settlements, and correct recording of transactions in the accounting system, contributing to financial discipline, risk mitigation, and the stability of the company’s operations.
Key responsibilities:
- Maintaining accounting records for companies registered in the UAE.
- Processing primary documentation (invoices, bills, contracts, bank statements).
- Recording banking transactions and performing reconciliations.
- Managing and controlling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
- Accounting for payroll, vacation pay, and End of Service Benefits (EOSB).
- Participating in the preparation of monthly financial reports.
- Preparing data for audits and liaising with auditors.
- Participating in the preparation of VAT Returns in compliance with FTA requirements.
- Participating in the preparation of Corporate Tax calculations and returns.
- Ensuring the accuracy of accounting in accordance with IFRS and UAE legal requirements.
- Liaising with counterparties on accounting and document flow matters.
Expected outcomes:
- Timely month-end closing for all companies.
- Error-free accounting and reporting.
- Timely preparation of VAT and Corporate Tax returns.
- Successful completion of audits with no material findings.
- No penalties from the FTA or other regulatory authorities in the UAE.
Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree or Diploma – Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an accountant.
- Minimum 1 year of experience managing companies in the UAE.
- Knowledge of IFRS.
- Knowledge of UAE legislation in the areas of: VAT; Corporate Tax; Labour Law (basic level); and primary documentation requirements.
- Experience liaising with the FTA and UAE auditors.
- Experience working with QuickBooks Online, Zoho Books, or similar accounting systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Experience in preparing reports and performing reconciliations.
- English proficiency at Intermediate level or higher (business correspondence and document handling).
- Attention to detail, responsibility, ability to work with large volumes of information, and capability to multitask.
