Associate Professor- Computer and Information Engineering
Job Purpose
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Associate Professor to join our Computer and Information Engineering Department. The role involves a balanced contribution to teaching, research, and academic service, supporting the university’s mission in education, innovation, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching
- Deliver undergraduate and graduate-level courses in computer and information engineering.
- Develop and update course content, syllabi, and instructional materials.
- Supervise student projects, theses, and teaching internships.
- Utilize modern teaching technologies and provide academic support as needed.
- Participate in curriculum planning and quality enhancement.
Research
- Conduct impactful research and publish in high-quality journals and conferences.
- Secure external research funding and manage funded projects.
- Present at academic and professional forums; engage in peer review.
- Collaborate on interdisciplinary research locally and internationally.
Service
- Contribute to departmental and university committees.
- Support student recruitment, mentoring, and extracurricular activities.
- Engage in community outreach, professional service, and academic development.
- Promote safe, ethical, and inclusive academic practices.
Department Focus Areas
We welcome applicants with expertise in Computer Networks, Robotics, Digital Design & FPGA Prototyping, Neuromorphic Computing, AI Hardware Accelerators, and Quantum Computing.
Qualifications & Experience
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Engineering, Communication, or a closely related field.
- Strong research record with peer-reviewed publications.
- Proven excellence in university-level teaching.
- Successful graduate student supervision.
- Track record of securing and managing research grants.
Required Experience
Demonstrated involvement in IP development, entrepreneurship, or technology transfer.
Minimum of 8 years of relevant academic experience, including at least 5 years at the Assistant Professor level.
Experience in curriculum development and academic innovation.
