Role Overview

Our client, a well-established and growing group operating across the engineering and trading sectors, is seeking an accomplished Chief Financial Officer to lead the financial strategy, governance and performance of the business. As a key member of the executive leadership team, the CFO will own the full finance function, drive commercial decision-making, and position the organisation for sustainable, profitable growth. This is a hands-on yet visionary role for a finance leader who combines deep technical expertise with the strategic foresight to shape the company’s next phase of expansion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the company’s financial strategy in alignment with long-term business objectives.
  • Lead all core finance functions including financial planning and analysis, treasury, tax, audit, controls and reporting.
  • Partner with the CEO and board on strategic planning, investment decisions, capital allocation and risk management.
  • Drive financial discipline across engineering and trading operations, including project costing, cash flow forecasting, margin protection and working capital management.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting and management reporting, delivering clear insight to support executive decisions.
  • Ensure full compliance with UAE regulatory, tax (including VAT and corporate tax) and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Manage relationships with banks, auditors, investors and key external stakeholders, including international partners.
  • Strengthen internal controls, financial systems and processes to support scale across multiple markets.
  • Build, lead and develop a high-performing finance team.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a senior finance leadership role, with a proven track record in the same function.
  • Demonstrated senior leadership experience within the UAE market.
  • Industry experience within engineering and/or trading is essential.
  • Strong international experience, with exposure to cross-border operations, multi-currency environments and global stakeholders.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English (spoken and written) is mandatory.
  • Professional qualification such as CA, CPA, ACCA, CMA or equivalent.
  • Strong command of UAE financial regulations, VAT and corporate tax frameworks.
  • Proven experience managing project-based finance and large-scale budgets.
