English Social Studies Teacher

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Social Studies lessons in line with the curriculum guidelines.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods and materials to cater to different learning styles and abilities.
  • Evaluate and monitor students’ progress through assignments, tests, and examinations.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students and communicate their progress to parents and guardians.
  • Establish and maintain a positive classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Manage student behaviour effectively, following school policies and procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with best teaching practices and educational trends.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share resources, strategies, and insights.
  • Identify and support students with special educational needs or learning difficulties.
  • Encourage and motivate students to achieve their full potential.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Attend and contribute to staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and school events.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Education, Social Studies, History, Geography, or a related field.
  • Teaching certification or license in Social Studies.
  • Proven experience in teaching Social Studies at the relevant grade level.
  • Strong understanding of Social Studies curriculum standards and frameworks.
