Fire Safety Engineer (Arabic Speaker)
Position: Fire Safety Engineer

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE

Department: Engineering / Facilities Management

Experience Required: Minimum 5 years

Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fire Safety Engineer to oversee fire protection systems, ensure compliance with local regulations, and support fire and life safety initiatives across projects and facilities. The ideal candidate will have a Mechanical Engineering background with specialization in Fire Safety Engineering, experience working with government entities and regulatory authorities, and strong stakeholder management skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, evaluate, and oversee the design, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of fire protection and life safety systems.
• Ensure compliance with UAE Fire and Life Safety Codes, Civil Defence requirements, and applicable international standards.
• Coordinate with government authorities, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders on fire safety requirements and approvals.
• Conduct fire risk assessments, site inspections, audits, and safety compliance reviews.
• Investigate fire incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective and preventive measures.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical submissions related to fire protection systems.
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to approved fire safety standards and regulations.
• Provide technical guidance and recommendations on fire suppression, detection, alarm, smoke control, and emergency response systems.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation for management and regulatory authorities.
• Support emergency preparedness planning, evacuation procedures, and fire drills.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Specialization, certification, or proven experience in Fire Safety Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in fire safety engineering, fire protection systems, or life safety compliance.
• Experience liaising with government entities and regulatory authorities in the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of fire protection systems, Civil Defence regulations, NFPA standards, and fire risk assessment methodologies.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and report-writing skills.
• Strong personality with the ability to influence stakeholders, challenge non-compliance, and drive safety initiatives.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with Abu Dhabi Civil Defence requirements and approval processes.

Previous experience within large-scale facilities, real estate, infrastructure, or government-related organizations.
