Job Position- General Accountant

Abu Dhabi, UAE | Full-Time | Onsite

Experience- 3 to 5 years

As Property Shop Investments (PSI), continues its ambitious global expansion, we are looking for a General Accountant.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate books of accounts for multiple holiday properties in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

  • Process daily financial transactions including guest payments, refunds, owner payouts, and vendor payments
  • Reconcile booking platform statements (Airbnb, Booking.com, etc.) with bank deposits and accounting records
  • Calculate and process property owner payouts after deducting management commissions (typically 15–25% of rental revenue)
  • Track and manage maintenance expense floats and property upkeep costs across the portfolio
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for management and property owners
  • Manage 5% VAT compliance on short-term rental income (classified as commercial accommodation)
  • Register and file VAT returns through the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) portal
  • Reconcile input VAT credits on property maintenance, utilities, and operational expenses
  • Ensure corporate tax compliance for financial years
  • alculate and remit Tourism Dirham fees to relevant authorities (Dubai/Abu Dhabi)
  • Maintain documentation required for DTCM (Dubai) or DCT (Abu Dhabi) holiday home operator licensing
  • Support external audits and respond to regulatory financial inquiries
  • Ensure proper segregation of owner funds and operational accounts
  • Maintain audit trails for all financial transactions per UAE regulatory standards

Qualification

  • Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in hospitality, property management, or vacation rental sector
  • Proven experience with UAE VAT filing and FTA compliance procedures
  • Familiarity with short-term rental platforms and their payout structures
  • Experience managing accounts for multiple properties/assets simultaneously
