Overview
Al Ain American School is seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Inclusion to lead and further develop our inclusive education provision. The successful candidate will oversee the implementation of inclusive practices across the school, ensuring that students with diverse learning needs are fully supported to achieve academic and personal success.
This leadership role involves strategic planning and oversight of inclusion services, leading the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), monitoring student progress, and working collaboratively with school leadership, teachers, parents, and external specialists. The Head of Inclusion will foster a supportive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment, while ensuring compliance with school policies and regulatory requirements and promoting best practices in inclusive education.
Job Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in special education
• Valid and certified UAE teaching license
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in the same role.
• IELTS score of 6 or above for non-native English speakers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead and model best practice in inclusive education, demonstrating strong pedagogical knowledge and professional leadership to support high-quality teaching and learning across the school.
• Oversee the planning, implementation, and monitoring of individualized support programs, ensuring teaching strategies meet the diverse learning needs, styles, and abilities of all students.
• Provide strategic direction to enrich and enhance the curriculum through inclusive practices and targeted intervention programs.
• Monitor, assess, and evaluate student progress in line with school policies, ensuring accurate documentation and reporting of outcomes.
• Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of students are upheld, with particular attention to students requiring additional support.
• Work collaboratively with senior leadership, teachers, support staff, and external professionals to establish and maintain consistent, positive behavior management and inclusion strategies across the school.
• Communicate professionally and effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress, support plans, and inclusive provisions.
• Maintain strict confidentiality when dealing with sensitive student information and liaising with parents, external agencies, and regulatory bodies.
