Job Description

We are seeking a qualified and experienced HSE Officer to join our team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe, healthy, and compliant environment for our students, staff, parents, and visitors.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
NEBOSH.
Minimum 5-7 years of HSE experience preferably within an educational institution is mandatory.
Strong knowledge of UAE HSE regulations, particularly Abu Dhabi local authority requirements.
Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills in English; Arabic language skills would be an advantage.
Ability to work effectively with staff, students, parents, contractors, and external authorities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant HSE reporting or compliance systems.
Proven ability to implement effective HSE initiatives in a school or similar environment.
Key Responsibilities
Developing, implementing, and monitoring HSE policies and procedures in line with school requirements and local regulations, including ADEK, SEHA, Civil Defense, and Municipality guidelines.
Conducting regular risk assessments across all school facilities and recommending appropriate control measures.
Carrying out routine inspections and audits to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
Investigating accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
Maintaining accurate HSE records, including incident reports, risk assessments, inspection reports, training records, and documentation on the ADEK portal and other relevant systems.
Developing and maintaining emergency response plans and coordinating regular drills and exercises.
Delivering HSE training and awareness sessions for staff and students to promote a strong safety culture.
Monitoring changes in HSE legislation, best practices, and local authority requirements, ensuring the school remains fully compliant.
Working closely with academic, operations, facilities, administration, and leadership teams to support safety initiatives across the school.
Continuously reviewing HSE performance and recommending improvements to enhance safety standards.
