Junior Accountant — FMCG Industry

A Junior Accountant supports day‑to‑day financial operations within a fast‑paced FMCG environment, ensuring accurate recording of transactions, assisting with monthly closings, and maintaining compliance with internal controls and external regulations. The role requires strong attention to detail, comfort with high‑volume data, and the ability to work cross‑functionally with supply chain, sales, and procurement teams.

Key Responsibilities

· Financial Recording — Post daily transactions including sales invoices, purchase entries, expense claims, and petty cash movements.

· Accounts Payable — Verify supplier invoices, match POs with GRNs, prepare payment runs, and reconcile vendor statements.

· Accounts Receivable — Track customer payments, follow up on outstanding balances, and support credit control activities.

· Bank Reconciliation — Reconcile bank statements with the general ledger and flag discrepancies.

· Inventory Accounting — Assist with stock valuation, cycle counts, and reconciliation of inventory movements typical in FMCG operations.

· Month‑End Closing — Support accruals, prepayments, journal entries, and preparation of financial reports.

· Compliance Support — Ensure adherence to VAT rules (UAE context), internal controls, and audit requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of debits/credits, ledgers, and financial statements.
  • Experience with systems like Sage 300 and Odoo is preferrable
  • Excel Skills (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, data cleaning,)
  • Ability to interpret numbers and identify inconsistencies.
  • Clear coordination with sales, logistics, and procurement teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience.
