Junior Accountant

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Junior Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will support the Senior Accountant in managing day-to-day accounting operations for our iGaming and Fintech businesses. This role requires strong Excel skills, experience with account reconciliations, familiarity with ZOHO Books (or other accounting software), and a solid understanding of basic accounting principles and tax requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Senior Accountant with daily accounting and finance activities.
• Record financial transactions accurately in ZOHO Books.
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, payment gateways, wallets, merchant accounts, and other balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare and maintain accounting schedules and supporting documentation.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Prepare journal entries and ensure proper accounting records are maintained.
• Support VAT, tax, and regulatory compliance by preparing required schedules and documentation.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure all supporting documents are properly filed.
• Assist in management reporting.
• Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and internal controls.
• Perform other accounting and administrative duties assigned by the Senior Accountant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of accounting experience is preferred.
• Experience using ZOHO Books or similar accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and basic formulas.
• Strong experience in bank, payment gateway, and account reconciliations.
• Good understanding of accounting principles, bookkeeping, and financial reporting.
• Basic knowledge of VAT, taxation, and statutory compliance.
• Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Experience in the iGaming, Fintech, payments, or digital services industry is an advantage.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with payment processors, merchant accounts, and digital wallet reconciliations.
• Experience handling high-volume financial transactions.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• High level of integrity and confidentiality when handling financial information.

Reporting Line

• Reports directly to the Senior Accountant.
• Works closely with Finance, Operations, HR, and Management teams.
