Job Description

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and age-appropriate lessons in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Create a positive, safe, and child-centered classroom environment that promotes curiosity and a love for learning.
  • Assess, monitor, and record student progress effectively, providing regular feedback to parents and guardians.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum enhancements and school-wide initiatives.
  • Actively participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the school’s continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Primary Education with Early Years Specialism, or a relevant field from a recognized university.
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in Early Years/Primary or a valid UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • A valid teaching license or certification from your country of origin.

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of full-time teaching experience in a Kindergarten or Early Years setting.
  • Demonstrable experience teaching children aged 3-5 years within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework of the National Curriculum for England.
  • Prior experience in an international school environment is highly desirable.

Skills Required:

  • Technical Skills:
  • Expertise in planning and delivering engaging, play-based lessons aligned with EYFS.
  • Proficiency in classroom management techniques appropriate for early years.
  • Ability to effectively use educational technology to enhance learning.
  • Strong assessment skills, including formative and summative assessments for EYFS.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Curriculum Knowledge:

  • In-depth understanding and practical experience with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum from the National Curriculum for England.
  • Thorough knowledge of the seven areas of learning and development within EYFS.
  • Familiarity with play-based learning principles and child-initiated exploration as central to the British Early Years curriculum.
  • Ability to implement statutory assessment requirements relevant to EYFS.

UAE-Specific Requirements:

  • Successful completion of the teacher licensing process with the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) upon appointment.
  • Compliance with all regulations, policies, and standards set by ADEK for private schools in Abu Dhabi.
  • Ability to obtain a UAE residency visa and Emirates ID.
  • Provision of a clear criminal background check/police clearance from your home country and the UAE.
