Procurement Manager- Marketing and Events

We are seeking a highly experienced Procurement Manager – Marketing & Sales to lead sourcing and procurement activities related to marketing and sales functions within the organization. This role is responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies that deliver value through effective vendor management, cost optimization, and strategic sourcing across marketing services and sales support categories.
The Procurement Manager will work closely with internal stakeholders from Marketing, Sales, and Branding teams to ensure timely and efficient procurement of services such as media buying, branding, advertising campaigns, events, promotional materials, and digital marketing solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills, deep category knowledge, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Category Strategy & Development
- Develop, implement, and optimize category strategies for all marketing items (e.g., creative, media, digital, events, PR, production).
- Analyze market trends, spend data, and business needs to identify opportunities for cost savings, value creation, and innovation.
- Define annual category roadmaps aligned with marketing plans and corporate strategy.
Sourcing & Procurement:
- Lead the end-to-end procurement process for marketing services including media planning & buying, creative and branding agencies, event management, digital solutions, and promotional materials.
- Identify qualified suppliers, evaluate proposals, negotiate contracts, and ensure competitive pricing.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and approval workflows.
- Support Marketing in supplier selection, campaign-based purchasing, and project-specific negotiations
Vendor Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and agencies. Ensure vendor performance is monitored through KPIs, service-level agreements (SLAs), and regular performance reviews.
- Conduct periodic performance reviews and drive continuous improvement initiatives with vendors.
- Resolve supplier issues, manage escalations, and ensure delivery to agreed standards.
Contract Management:
- Negotiate and manage contracts to ensure favorable terms, cost efficiency, risk mitigation, and compliance with internal policies.
Cost Optimization:
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive efficiencies without compromising on service quality or brand objectives
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate closely with internal Sales & Marketing teams to understand requirements, provide procurement guidance, and ensure alignment of sourcing strategies with business goals.
Market Intelligence:
- Stay abreast of market trends, innovations, and best practices in marketing procurement to drive continuous improvement and competitive advantage.
Qualifications: & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in event planning or category management, with a focus on event-related categories.
- Strong understanding of event trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and event management software
- Strong analytical skills and experience with data-driven decision making.
Preferred:
- Experience in a similar category management or leadership role.
- Familiarity with digital or hybrid event formats.
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP).
Work Environment:
- Travel may be required for on-site event management.
- Some evening and weekend work may be necessary, depending on event schedules.
