Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end payroll processing and ensure the accurate and timely payment of employee salaries in compliance with UAE Labour Law, WPS requirements and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process the complete monthly payroll cycle for employees, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
- Review attendance, timesheets, overtime, allowances, incentives, bonuses, leave, unpaid leave and payroll deductions.
- Prepare, validate and submit WPS Salary Information Files (SIF) in accordance with MOHRE requirements.
- Reconcile payroll reports with salary sheets, employee records, attendance data, WPS files and general ledger accounts.
- Calculate leave salary, end-of-service benefits, gratuity, final settlements and other employee benefits in accordance with UAE Labour Law and company policy.
- Maintain payroll provisions and schedules for leave salary, gratuity, bonuses and other employee-related benefits.
- Prepare payroll journal entries and coordinate with the Finance Manager for accurate posting to the appropriate GL accounts, cost centres, projects and divisions.
- Conduct monthly reconciliation of payroll expenses and payroll-related payable and provision accounts.
- Coordinate with HR, Finance, Operations and project teams to resolve attendance, employee master-data and payroll-related discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate and confidential payroll records, employee documents and supporting schedules.
- Support internal and external audits by providing payroll reports, reconciliations and supporting documentation.
- Prepare monthly payroll reports and management summaries, including employee cost analysis, overtime, deductions and payroll variance reports.
- Ensure all payroll changes are properly supported and approved before processing.
- Assist in improving payroll controls, automating processes and ERP-based payroll reporting.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Human Resources or a related field.
- Minimum 3–4 years of hands-on payroll experience in the UAE is mandatory.
- Strong working knowledge of UAE Labour Law, WPS, MOHRE requirements, leave salary, gratuity and end-of-service calculations.
- Experience managing payroll for both staff and labour categories is highly preferred.
- Experience in construction, MEP, contracting or a project-based organization will be an advantage.
- Strong understanding of payroll accounting, GL reconciliation, provisions, accruals and cost allocation.
- Proficiency in Advanced Microsoft Excel and payroll reconciliations.
- Practical experience with payroll or ERP systems is required; experience with ePromis will be an advantage.
- High level of accuracy, confidentiality, integrity and attention to detail.
- Ability to meet strict payroll deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
- Strong analytical, communication and coordination skills.
