Substitute/Cover teacher – Secondary Social Studies

At GEMS American Academy, Abu Dhabi, we are inviting applications from passionate and dedicated Social Studies/Economics/Business Studies for Secondary Division as a Substitute/Cover teacher to join our team from October/November 2026.

Successful candidates will need to:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed) or a subject-related degree with a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE/PGDE/state teaching license or equivalent) in Social Studies/Economics.
• Proven experience teaching Social Studies/Economics, ideally within an American or IB curriculum context (preferred but not essential).
• Demonstrated ability to inspire, motivate, and support students through engaging, purposeful learning.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative and reflective approach.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and contributing to the school’s positive, inclusive culture.
