Role Description

A specialist responsible for the psychological support of children, adaptation periods, support for children with special educational needs, development of an inclusive approach, assessment of emotional state, socio-emotional development, as well as counseling educators and parents.

Qualifications

• Higher education – bachelor’s or master’s degree in psychology, child psychology, special or inclusive education.
• Experience as a child psychologist or inclusion coordinator in kindergartens, schools, or early development centers in Dubai.
• Deep understanding of the developmental characteristics of children aged 1.5 to 5 years and principles of inclusive education.
• Confident knowledge of English for maintaining documentation, working in an international team, and communicating with parents.

Responsibilities

• Systematic observation of children in groups, during free play, classes, and routine moments to assess their emotional state, behavior, social skills, and characteristics of interaction with peers and adults.
• Observation of children’s socio-emotional development and support for their adaptation together with educators.
• Strict adherence to internal rules, work standards, scripts, and approved instructions of the center.
• Coordination of inclusive processes in the center, development of individual approaches and materials for children.
• Interaction with educators, assistants, nurse, and administration regarding behavior, positive behavioral support, and psychological well-being of children.
• Organization and accompaniment of the process of adapting a child and their family to the center: preliminary acquaintance with the child and parents, preparing the family for the start of attendance, observation of the child in the first weeks, assessment of their emotional state and adaptation dynamics, regular support and informing parents, development of individual recommendations for the family and educators, as well as timely adjustment of the approach when difficulties arise.
• Conducting individual consultations for parents on issues of child development, emotional state, behavior, and adaptation.
• Supporting parents in difficult situations related to the child’s anxiety, difficulties of separation, changes in behavior, and relationships with peers.
• Providing parents with practical recommendations on supporting the child at home and coordinating unified approaches between the family and the center.
• Conducting meetings with parents based on observation results and discussing further steps to support the child.
• Participation in the development and updating of internal procedures for safeguarding, wellbeing, and positive behavior.
• Counseling educators on issues of children’s adaptation, age-related characteristics, emotional reactions, behavior, and interaction with peers.
• Providing educators with practical recommendations on supporting children with individual educational and emotional needs.
• Assisting educators in choosing effective positive behavior strategies, preventing conflict situations, and creating a psychologically comfortable atmosphere in the group.
• Participation in разборе сложных случаев and joint development of a child support plan.
• Participation in team meetings, internal employee training, and preparing the center for opening.

Schedule and Work Conditions

• Before opening, there is a period of internal training and adaptation: getting to know the team, center work standards, internal procedures, scripts for interaction with children, parents, and employees, as well as preparation for the launch.
