Job Description

  • Provides therapeutic and patient care services for the purpose of delivering radiation therapy as prescribed by a physician.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Determines and delivers appropriate patient treatment plan in collaboration with physician, dosimetrist, and physicist
  • Monitors and documents patient’s condition and reports any adverse reactions.
  • Assesses and educates patients according to specific department protocols.
  • Positions patients and selects anatomic/technical parameters accurately.
  • Checks and adjusts necessary equipment, including linear accelerator.
  • Performs machine QA as instructed by Physicist
  • Prepares and assembles alloy shielding blocs for patient treatment
  • Promptly reports equipment malfunctions
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduate of a CAHEA approved School of Radiation Therapy technology
  • A minimum of 2+ years of experience with radiation oncology specific electronic medical record as well as record and verify.
  • Experience with external radiation therapy, IMRT, IGRT and CT simulation preferred.
  • Board Certified Registered Radiation Therapist (R) with current state licensure as well as be certified in Radiation Therapy or equivalent
  • T(ARRT) through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required or equivalent
