Job Description
- Provides therapeutic and patient care services for the purpose of delivering radiation therapy as prescribed by a physician.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Determines and delivers appropriate patient treatment plan in collaboration with physician, dosimetrist, and physicist
- Monitors and documents patient’s condition and reports any adverse reactions.
- Assesses and educates patients according to specific department protocols.
- Positions patients and selects anatomic/technical parameters accurately.
- Checks and adjusts necessary equipment, including linear accelerator.
- Performs machine QA as instructed by Physicist
- Prepares and assembles alloy shielding blocs for patient treatment
- Promptly reports equipment malfunctions
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Graduate of a CAHEA approved School of Radiation Therapy technology
- A minimum of 2+ years of experience with radiation oncology specific electronic medical record as well as record and verify.
- Experience with external radiation therapy, IMRT, IGRT and CT simulation preferred.
- Board Certified Registered Radiation Therapist (R) with current state licensure as well as be certified in Radiation Therapy or equivalent
- T(ARRT) through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required or equivalent
