Job Description

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring the company’s books and records are maintained in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and are always ready for audit. Additionally, you will require close coordination with external auditors, preparation of audit schedules, and timely resolution of audit queries.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors and manage the audit process end-to-end.
  • Prepare and maintain financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS.
  • Ensure the company’s accounts are always audit-ready with proper reconciliations, supporting schedules, and documentation.
  • Coordinate and provide auditors with the required information and resolve their queries promptly.
  • Review trial balances, general ledgers, and supporting schedules for accuracy and completeness.
  • Monitor compliance with internal accounting policies and procedures.
  • Assist in preparing consolidated financial statements and management reports.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance and keep up to date with IFRS updates.
  • Support and hoc tasks related to financial reporting and audit readiness.

QUALIFICATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or any related field.
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in accounting, with prior experience in a recognized audit firm. Big 4 preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting.
  • Experience in preparing audit schedules and liaising with auditors.
  • Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and MS Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proactive, organized, and solution oriented.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, especially with auditors.

PREFERRED INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE:

  • Real Estate or Accounting.
