Job Description: Senior Accountant – Cinemacity Abu Dhabi
Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE
Department: Finance
Reports To: Group CFO
Role Overview
The Senior Accountant will oversee day-to-day financial operations at Cinemacity Abu Dhabi, ensuring compliance with UAE accounting standards and group policies. This role will manage accounts, prepare financial reports, oversee budgets, and support audits, contributing directly to the financial health and growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full accounting cycle: AP, AR, GL, payroll, reconciliations.
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations and filing requirements.
- Monitor cash flow, forecasts, and expense control.
- Supervise junior accountants and provide training where required.
- Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis for the Abu Dhabi operation.
- Provide management with timely financial insights to support decision-making.
- Ensure adherence to group accounting policies and internal controls.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance (Master’s or CPA/ACCA preferred).
- Minimum 5–7 years’ accounting experience, with at least 3 years in the UAE.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and UAE VAT compliance.
- Proficiency in accounting software (ERP systems) and MS Excel.
- Analytical, detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Prior experience in hospitality, cinema, or entertainment industries is a plus.
