Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Accountant for our finance team within our Operations EMEA business. Due to the nature of the projects and expectation, the position will be based full time at our corporate office in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The Role
We are recruiting for a Senior Accountant to ensure regional reporting and compliance activities are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
This involves the completion of all statutory compliance for legal entities in the region in line with deadlines and working closely with Group Finance to ensure that the audit process for EMEA legal entities is managed appropriately.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for the preparation and completion of the legal entity statutory accounts and tax returns, ensuring that there is supporting information held for all balances and disclosures reported, and that deadlines for returns are met
- Support the co-ordination and completion of the EMEA statutory audit process for each legal entity and acting as a key focal point for the external auditors
- Act as a focal point for the outsourced tax professionals and ensuring that the overall tax analysis collection process is managed and coordinated in a proper manner
- All VAT filings and compliance are completed within the statutory deadline
- Responsible for Personnel Income tax and Social Security compliance
- Maintain the cashflow position by working closely with the Group Treasury team
- Ensure global compliance tool is maintained and kept up-to-date in line with filings
- Ensure results are accurately reported and analyzed
- Focal point for the implementation of the corporate tax in UAE including the transfer pricing mechanism
- Preparation / Review of Balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and Government surveys
- Focal point of contact for all matters relating to Finance Shared Centre
- Liaising with external, internal and client auditors
- Execution of various ad hoc financial analysis and tasks as and when required

Expected
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting
- Qualified ICAS / ICAEW / ACCA / ACA or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role
- Previous accounting experience in a similar role
- Proficient user of Excel
- International Financial Reporting Standards and how they are adhered to and applied
- Experience of standard statutory accounts completion software desirable, but not essential
- Knowledge of Corporate Tax and VAT.
- The candidate must be proficient in Arabic (reading, writing, and speaking).
