Accountant

Job Description

A financial platform based in Abu Dhabi (ADGM) and regulated by FSRA (3A license) is seeking to hire an accountant. The platform specializes in custody, global markets execution/trading, as well as advisory/asset management services for professional and institutional clients.

Responsibilities:

• Manage all aspects of accounting operations, including monthly close, accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger.
• Prepare statutory financial statements, regulatory financial returns and monthly management reports.
• Perform monthly, quarterly and annual financial close processes, including journal entries, accruals and reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, accounting policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and submit VAT, corporate tax and other tax filings, where applicable.
• Maintain bank, client money and custody reconciliations, where applicable.
• Manage invoicing, payment processing and cash management.
• Maintain the fixed asset register and related accounting records.
• Coordinate the annual external audit and liaise with auditors, regulators and service providers.

Qualifications:

• Minimum five years of financial industry experience, with at least two years in a brokerage firm or similar specialized in Financial Markets trading
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• ACCA, CPA, ACA or equivalent professional qualification is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting.
• Experience with ADGM or DIFC regulatory reporting requirements is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of Global Markets products (Fixed Income, Equities, FX, REPOs) and demonstrable experience in supporting those products from accounting side
• IT savvy with practical experience in leveraging technology to improve accounting processes, including workflow automation, process optimisation and the effective use of accounting and productivity software
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, coupled with excellent analytical, problem-solving and organizational abilities.
