Senior Director – Mergers & Acquisitions

We are looking to hire a Senior Director – Mergers & Acquisitions who will lead and advise on long-term M&A strategies ensuring a high-performing investment portfolio by focussing on value creation and the refinement of M&A processes, ensuring effective sourcing and execution of M&A opportunities to drive financial performance and propel growth. Our client based in Dubai – is a leading transportation, logistics and supply chain group.
This is the permanent role within the organisation.
The role sits within the Strategy & Portfolio Management department and reports directly to the Senior Executive Director of Strategy & Portfolio Management.
Key responsibilities:
- Establish and implement M&A strategies for the Group and subsidiaries, ensuring alignment with overall strategic objectives and growth plans.
- Continuously refine M&A processes using lessons learned and global best practices to enhance execution discipline, efficiency, and outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with laws, policies, and administrative regulations while handling sensitive information with discretion.
- Define KPIs and success metrics to measure the effectiveness of M&A initiatives and monitor data integrity and financial analysis.
- Lead the full M&A process with the Executive Director of Strategy & Investment, from opportunity evaluation and pipeline management to Board, shareholder, and regulatory approvals.
- Develop valuations, synergy models, and transaction structures to assess deal viability, capture value creation, and secure optimal terms.
- Oversee negotiations with counterparties and stakeholders, and design post-deal integration programs, including Day-1 readiness, 100-day plans, and synergy capture.
- Drive continuous improvement in M&A execution, maintain a strategic partnership log, and conduct industry research and competitive analyses.
- Lead end-to-end due diligence across commercial, financial, legal, tax, and operational areas to ensure disciplined evaluation and risk mitigation.
- Identify and manage transaction risks while collaborating with legal and compliance teams on regulatory, audit, and investigation matters.
- Partner with leadership and finance teams to streamline processes, assess funding needs, and provide analytical insights on financial performance and portfolio positions.
- Build and maintain relationships with investment advisors to gain market insights and support deal flow.
- Provide internal M&A guidance and represent the organization in forums, conferences, and networking events to enhance visibility and business development.
- Prepare and present reports on ongoing and planned M&A initiatives with strategic recommendations for senior management and committees.
- Monitor industry and regulatory trends to identify potential M&A opportunities and keep leadership informed of relevant developments.
Knowledge, skills & experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or Business Administration with CFA, CISI or equivalent certification.
- 10+ years of experience in mergers & acquisitions, corporate finance, or strategy, with strong deal execution and stakeholder management experience.
