The purpose of this role is to ensure accurate, complete, and timely recording of financial transactions in the General Ledger and support period-end closing across UAE and international entities, while maintaining data integrity and compliance with IFRS, internal policies, and regulatory requirements. The role manages journal entries, reconciliations, preparation of audit schedules, and trial balance reviews to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records, including subsidiaries. Additionally, it supports financial reporting, internal and external audits (including ICOFR), and tax compliance.
Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities:
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities across UAE and international entities, including subsidiaries, to ensure timely and accurate financial close.
- Manage general ledger activities, including recording, processing, reviewing, and posting journal entries, accruals, provisions, reclassifications, and other adjustments with proper supporting documents and approvals.
- Prepare and review reconciliations, trial balance schedules, supporting schedules, and notes to the financial statements in line with the Trial Balance for audit requirements and management review.
- Maintain the General Ledger and Chart of Accounts to ensure financial records are accurate, complete, up to date, and compliant with IFRS, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with finance teams (AP, AR, Tax, FP&A, Payroll, FA) to support data alignment, sub-ledger closing activities, and timely resolution of accounting issues, while also assisting with Oracle-related system updates and validations.
- Support financial reporting, internal and external audits (including ICOFR), and tax compliance by preparing schedules, providing required documentation, and responding to stakeholder and auditor queries.
Qualifications
Educational and Technical Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or any relevant. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Chartered accountancy or suitable accounting qualification is essential (CPA or ACCA)
Language Skills:
- Excellent English. Arabic is an added advantage
Years of Experience:
- A minimum of 3-4 years of experience in a similar role
Nature of Experience:
- Experience with:
- General ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Oracle/ERP exposure and Chart of Accounts handling.
- IFRS, financial reporting, and audit support.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other financial software
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
