Job summary:
To lead all Financial Accounting, Financial Reporting, and related Tax coordination activities for TAQA Generation, which operates as an investment holding platform for a geographically diverse portfolio of power generation and water desalination projects. These projects are structured across wholly owned, majority owned and controlled, and joint-controlled entities.
The role ensures consistent application of IFRS-compliant accounting policies, robust financial controls, timely reporting and audit completion, and strong governance across Generation HQ, investment holding companies, and operating project companies (OpCos). The role also supports new project development, acquisitions, and integration activities from an accounting and tax perspective.
General Responsibilities:
- Strategic and Planning
- Implement the divisional strategy in line with business vision, mission, and corporate objectives in compliance with group delegation of authority policy.
- Ensure that the overall business strategy is translated into annual operational business plans and the performance is monitored to ensure business plans are in line with the overall strategy.
- Policy, Procedures, Process and Systems
- Implement divisional policy, systems, processes, procedures and controls covering all functional areas in line with group delegation of authority policy to ensure fulfilment of all relevant procedural/legislative requirements while delivering quality and cost-effective service in a consistent manner.
- Reporting
- Ensure all divisional reports are completed timely and comply with business policies and standards.
- Manage the preparation of periodical management reports and progress reports to keep the senior management informed about the progress of various initiatives and to facilitate decision-making.
- Comply with organization’s requirements in a timely manner.
Job Specific Responsibilities:
- Financial Accounting & Close Management
- Own and oversee financial accounting activities across all Generation entities (HQ, HoldCos, and OpCos), including general ledger integrity, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end / quarter-end / year-end close processes.
- Own and manage the monthly reporting and close calendar across all entities to ensure timely closing in line with Group timelines.
- Review and monitor accounting records and financial outputs to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with IFRS, TAQA accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Define and enforce consistent application of accounting treatments, methodologies, and judgments across all entities and jurisdictions.
- Act as the key point of contact for technical accounting matters, providing guidance to OpCos, HQ finance teams, and senior management.
- Financial Reporting & Group Coordination
- Oversee and validate the preparation of periodic financial statements and reporting packs (monthly, quarterly, annual) for Generation entities and investment holding companies.
- Ensure all reporting complies with IFRS, Group reporting instructions, statutory requirements, and internal benchmarks.
- Review and challenge financial results, analyze key movements and variances, and provide insights to management to support decision-making.
- Manage and maintain group-level adjustments, eliminations, intercompany balances, and reconciliations.
- Ensure reporting templates, systems, and tools are standardized, controlled, and efficiently used across the portfolio.
- Investment Holding Companies & Intercompany Management
- Manage all accounting, reporting, and statutory affairs of Generation’s investment holding entities, including:
- Maintaining books and records
- Preparing standalone and consolidated financial statements
- Managing intercompany transactions and balances
- Coordinating statutory filings and compliance obligations
- Manage auditor appointments for holding entities and ensure audits are completed on time and without issues.
- Coordinate tax-related matters for holding companies in collaboration with Group Tax, including filings, assessments, and tax positions.
- Tax & Structuring Support
- Coordinate tax reporting and compliance activities across Generation entities in collaboration with Group Tax and local advisors.
- Provide accounting input into tax structuring considerations for investments, holding companies, and financing arrangements.
- Lead accounting and tax due diligence for new projects, acquisitions, and investments.
- Ensure financial models for new projects appropriately reflect accounting and tax treatments.
- Audit, Governance & Internal Controls
- Lead and coordinate internal and external audits across Generation entities, ensuring timely completion and smooth audit execution.
- Act as a key liaison with external auditors and internal audit teams, resolving queries and issues effectively.
- Support and participate in Audit Committee meetings of OpCos, providing accounting and reporting insights as required.
- Ensure and continuously strengthen a robust internal control environment over financial reporting across all entities.
- Drive remediation of audit findings and continuous improvement of accounting processes and controls.
- Policies, Procedures & Standards
- Ensure accounting and finance policies and procedures at Generation HQ and OpCo levels are adequate, up to date, and aligned with IFRS, Group requirements, and best-practice benchmarks.
- Drive consistent implementation of policies across jurisdictions and entities.
- Support the development, enhancement, and rollout of accounting manuals and reporting guidance.
- Systems & ERP Oversight
- Oversee the integrity and suitability of ERP and financial reporting systems supporting Generation entities.
- Drive and coordinate system enhancements, changes, and controls with Group IT and Group Accounting to meet Generation’s evolving business needs.
- Support system integration for new projects and entities.
- New Projects, Transactions & Integration
- Lead the accounting workstream for the financial integration of new projects, acquisitions, and investments into the Generation portfolio.
- Provide accounting guidance during early-stage project development by establishing finance processes, controls, and reporting frameworks prior to full OpCo management.
- Provide interim operational finance support during project start-up phases where required.

8 years of relevant working experience in financial reporting or related field
Bachelor’s degree Finance, Business Administration or equivalent
