The Department of Language Studies in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences empowers students to explore the rich, multifaceted nature of language and communication in today’s globalized, digital world. The Opportunity
The Department of Language Studies in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences seeks English language faculty at the instructor/assistant professor level with expertise in teaching English language and literature. The department offers courses in English language and literature and academic writing. Successful candidates will teach English academic writing at the undergraduate level. Adjunct faculty will work closely with the course coordinators throughout the term. They will be responsible for teaching, grading assessments, providing constructive feedback, and offering advising sessions to students outside of regular class hours.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will fully meet the following expectations for the position:
- Prospective candidates should hold a Ph.D. or Master’s degree in English Studies, Literature, Applied Linguistics, Rhetoric and Composition or a closely related field from an accredited institution recognized by the UAE Ministry of Education
- Demonstrated experience and excellence in undergraduate teaching OR
- A minimum of three years of teaching experience in English and/or academic writing at the tertiary level
