Job Description

  • Oversee the implementation of all activities related to the National Faculty Development Program, including forming the committee, receiving applications, evaluating them, and presenting them to the relevant committees.
  • Recruit and appoint academically outstanding graduates from UAE University and other universities.
  • Prepare and qualify teaching assistants to continue their postgraduate studies and obtain Master’s and PhD degrees from leading Western universities, with a particular focus on universities in the United States.
  • Provide full support and follow-up for teaching assistants regarding their affairs with embassies and overseas universities.
  • Explain the admission requirements and procedures to teaching assistants.
  • Communicate with teaching assistants to facilitate the procedures related to scholarships and overseas study.
  • Explain how to complete admission applications and prepare the required documents to help teaching assistants gain admission to leading universities.
  • Organise awareness workshops to improve the readiness of teaching assistants for overseas scholarships and develop pre-scholarship training programs and courses.
  • Maintain communication with scholarship students to create opportunities for knowledge exchange and share international experience by supporting their participation in activities organised by international academic institutions.
  • Prepare and maintain a complete file containing all the requirements and information related to each teaching assistant and scholarship student.
  • Carry out any other duties assigned within the scope of the position.
  • Send the annual announcement at the beginning of each academic year, along with the program application forms and regulations.
  • Receive applications from national faculty members along with recommendations from college deans.
  • Evaluate applications based on the program regulations and the allocated program budget.
  • Present applications to the program’s higher committee, clearly indicating whether each application meets the program requirements.
  • Present the recommendations of the program’s higher committee to the university leadership for approval.
  • Inform faculty members who applied about the committee’s recommendation regarding their applications.
  • Receive, evaluate, and approve electronic travel requests submitted by national faculty members through the system.
  • Present alternative plans for certain applications to the Vice Chancellor/Vice President of the University for consideration, and inform the concerned applicant of the decision.
  • Update the program’s database regularly.
  • Carry out any other duties assigned within the scope of the position.
