Position Overview

The Arabic Language Learning Coach provides face-to-face academic support and guidance to students attending the iCademy Learning Hub. Working closely with students individually and in small groups, the Learning Coach supports student understanding, engagement, organization, and progress in Arabic Language.

The role focuses on helping students access the curriculum, strengthen Arabic language proficiency and achieve academic success while promoting independence, accountability, and confidence. The Learning Coach works collaboratively with teachers, Academic Advisors, parents, and school leadership to ensure students remain engaged and on track.

The Learning Coach does not replace the classroom teacher and is not responsible for delivering the curriculum.  Instead, the role provides targeted academic support, clarification of concepts, reinforcement of learning, and structured guidance aligned to teacher expectations and learning objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Student Support and Guidance

·      Provide face-to-face support in Arabic Language to students individually and in small groups.

·      Support students in developing reading, writing, speaking, listening, vocabulary, comprehension, and communication skills in Arabic.

·      Reinforce teacher instruction and clarify concepts when required.

·      Guide students through assignments, projects, assessments, and examination preparation.

·      Encourage students to seek support when needed and become confident, independent learners.

Progress Monitoring and Accountability

·      Monitor and record student attendance daily.

·      Track student engagement and assignment completion.

·      Identify students who may be falling behind and implement timely interventions.

·      Follow up with students regarding missing work and deadlines.

·      Support students in setting goals and taking ownership of their learning.

·      Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions.

Student Engagement and Motivation

·      Build positive relationships with students.

·      Encourage active participation in learning activities.

·      Promote attendance at live classes and school events.

·      Celebrate student achievements and progress.

·      Foster resilience, motivation, and a growth mindset.

Personalized Support

·      Differentiate support according to student needs and ability levels.

·      Guide students towards appropriate learning resources and support strategies in Arabic Language.

·      Assist students in overcoming barriers to learning and developing confidence in Arabic Language.

·      Collaborate with teachers and Academic Advisors regarding student support needs.

Organization and Learning Management

·      Assist students in managing their workload and deadlines.

·      Reinforce planning and time management strategies.

·      Help students establish productive learning routines.

·      Encourage increasing levels of student independence and accountability.

Communication and Collaboration

·      Communicate regularly with parents regarding attendance, engagement, and progress.

·      Participate in meetings with teachers and Academic Advisors.

·      Support the development and implementation of student learning plans where appropriate.

·      Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency in support.

Professional Responsibilities

·      Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.

·      Participate in professional development activities including occasional after-school professional development sessions or meetings

·      Perform additional duties as assigned.

Role Requirements

·    Bachelor’s Degree in Arabic Language, Arabic Education, or Arabic Literature; an additional qualification in Social Studies, History, or Geography is preferred.  All qualifications must meet MOE approval requirements

·     Valid KHDA approval and/or UAE Ministry of Education (MOE) Teaching License

·   Proven experience teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or supporting both native and non-native Arabic speakers across a range of grade levels

·   Experience teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or supporting students in UAE Social Studies is preferred

·    Strong understanding of Arabic language acquisition, literacy development, and effective instructional practices for diverse learners

·    Demonstrated knowledge of UAE history, culture, heritage, national identity, and citizenship education is preferred

·   Ability to create engaging learning experiences that promote Arabic language proficiency, cultural awareness, and academic achievement

·     Ability to maintain a positive and inclusive environment

·   Adaptability and problem-solving skills to support diverse learning needs

·     Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

·     Experience working with students individually and in small groups

·    Ability to build positive relationships with students and families, teachers, other colleagues and school leadership

·     Strong organizational and time-management skills

·    Proficiency with educational learning platforms, technology-enhanced instruction and Microsoft Office applications

·     Ability to quickly learn new technologies and tools

·     Commitment to student-centered learning and continuous improvement.
