Job Description

Associate Professor – Multimedia/Emerging Creative Arts – College of Arts and Creative Enterprises – Abu Dhabi or Dubai Campus

To support continued growth in student enrollment and program development, the College of Arts and Creative Enterprises (CACE) invites applications for a full-time, multi-year faculty position in Multimedia Practice (Creative and Emerging Media), based on the Abu Dhabi or Dubai campus, commencing August 2026.

The successful candidate is expected to contribute meaningfully to advancing multimedia practices within the College, with a particular focus on immersive, interactive, and emerging creative technologies. This includes fostering strong connections with local and regional industry, supporting and expanding the Internship Program, and contributing to an integrated, interdisciplinary curriculum.

The role requires an educator who can guide students in situating their work within local, regional, and international contexts, preparing them for evolving creative industries. The candidate should demonstrate versatility, a forward-thinking approach to media practices, and advanced proficiency in contemporary digital tools and platforms.

The Role

The candidate will demonstrate a forward-thinking approach to animation and multimedia education, with the ability to teach across a range of areas, including, but not limited to:

• 2D and 3D animation
• 3D modelling and visualization
• Motion graphics and time-based media
• Gaming and digital environments
• Emerging practices integrating AI and generative systems
• UI/UX programming

An interdisciplinary teaching approach is essential, reflecting the convergence of media, technology, and design practices. The candidate should bring advanced technical expertise alongside a critical understanding of the role of digital media in shaping contemporary culture.

The College of Art and Creative Enterprises (CACE)

CACE offers students a Bachelor of Arts Degree in the following BFA programs: Animation, Graphic Design, Interior Design, and Visual Art, as well as a shared BSc in Multimedia Design, along with a professional BArch degree in Architecture. CACE aims to prepare students to become creative leaders in the arts and related industries. Our mission is to provide student artists and designers with an opportunity to explore and develop their own creative ideas while contributing to national initiatives in the culture of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). We have received Substantial Equivalency from the National Schools of Art & Design (NASAD) for our academic programs. Candidates will have the opportunity to contribute to the college’s growth and initiatives that will advocate innovative practice and research.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a terminal degree in a relevant field and demonstrate a strong record of teaching at both introductory and advanced levels. Three to five years of industry experience is required in lieu of teaching experience. Experience with AI-driven tools and workflows is highly desirable.

Candidates should show:

• Versatility across animation, multimedia, and interactive creative practices
• A forward-looking approach to digital tools, platforms, and methodologies
• Evidence of innovative teaching, including engagement with emerging technologies
• The ability to contribute to research priorities such as immersive media, virtual/augmented reality, and advanced digital visualisation

A strong teaching portfolio, demonstrating pedagogy, course development, and student outcomes, is essential. The candidate should also be able to contribute to the College’s research culture and its commitment to advancing creative practice within the context of future media ecologies.
