Job Description

Due to the continued success of GEMS Founders School, Al Mizhar, we are looking to recruit an outstanding A Level Biology Teacher to join our Science Department in August 2026.

GEMS Founders School, Al Mizhar is a British School Overseas (BSO) accredited institution that has achieved “Outstanding” judgements across all standards. As we expand our Key Stage 5 provision, we are seeking a subject specialist capable of delivering a rigorous and engaging A Level Biology curriculum that prepares students for top-tier university entrance. The Role: Professional Expectations

As an A Level specialist, you will be expected to:

• Deliver high-quality lessons across KS3, KS4 (GCSE), and KS5 (A Level) Biology.
• Prepare students for practical endorsements and advanced theoretical examinations.
• Foster a passion for life sciences and support students in their transition to higher education.
• Contribute to the wider Science Department and the school’s extra-curricular “Flourish” programme.

Skills

Successful candidates will:

• Hold a Bachelor of Education or a Bachelor’s degree with PGCE / PGDE (or equivalent qualification)
• Have proven experience teaching Science/Biology to GCSE level
• Demonstrate exemplary teaching practice and a passion for continuous improvement
• Bring a creative and enthusiastic approach to both classroom and wider school life
• Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work closely with colleagues, students, and parents
