Healthpoint Hospital is seeking an experienced and patient-centered Consultant in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) to join its multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and managing patients with musculoskeletal, neurological, sports-related, and disabling conditions, with the goal of restoring function, improving quality of life, and maximizing patient independence. The role involves close collaboration with orthopedic surgeons, neurologists, pain specialists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, and manage patients requiring rehabilitation for musculoskeletal, neurological, and functional impairments.
  • Develop comprehensive rehabilitation treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Manage patients with acute and chronic pain conditions using evidence-based, non-surgical interventions.
  • Perform rehabilitation-related procedures and interventions within granted clinical privileges.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient recovery and functional outcomes.
  • Oversee and coordinate rehabilitation programs for inpatient and outpatient populations.
  • Provide recommendations regarding assistive devices, orthotics, prosthetics, and adaptive equipment.
  • Participate in case conferences, multidisciplinary meetings, and clinical discussions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, clinical governance activities, and departmental development.
  • Participate in continuing medical education, research, and professional development activities.

Qualifications

  • Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent recognized qualification).
  • Completion of accredited specialty training in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.
  • Tier 1 qualification as per DOH requirements (e.g., American Board Certification, Canadian Board Certification, CCT/CCST, Australian Fellowship, or equivalent Tier 1 qualification).
  • Eligible for or holding a DOH Consultant License in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of post-board experience at consultant level in a reputable healthcare institution.
  • Demonstrated expertise in musculoskeletal medicine, neurological rehabilitation, pain management, and functional restoration.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and patient-management skills.
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice, patient-centered care, and continuous quality improvement.
