English Language Arts Teacher
English Language Arts Teacher – Abu Dhabi

Canadian International School Abu Dhabi is looking for a passionate and experienced Secondary English Language Arts Teacher to join our teaching team.

Following the Alberta Education curriculum, we are seeking an educator who can inspire a love of reading, writing and literature while developing students’ confidence as effective communicators and critical thinkers.

What You’ll Do

  • Plan and deliver engaging English Language Arts lessons aligned with the Alberta curriculum across grades 7-12.
  • Develop students’ reading, writing, speaking, listening and critical-thinking skills.
  • Create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment where all students can succeed.
  • Use assessment and student data to monitor progress and inform teaching.
  • Differentiate learning to meet a range of student needs and abilities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and contribute positively to the wider life of the school.
  • Maintain high professional, safeguarding and teaching standards in line with CIS, Alberta Education and ADEK expectations.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor of Education with a Major in ELA OR B.Ed in another subject with at least 2 years teaching experince in ELA between grades 7-12.
  • Alberta Teacher Cert or other recognized teaching qualification/certification.
  • Relevant English Language Arts teaching experience between grades 7-12.
  • Strong subject knowledge and excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to meet ADEK eligibility and PASS approval requirements.
  • Alberta, Canadian or international curriculum experience is required.
  • Full professional fluency in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be available to start September 2026.
