General Ward Responsibilities (Medical)Admission & Assessment: Take comprehensive medical histories and perform physical examinations on newly admitted patients.Ward Rounds: Conduct daily inpatient rounds to monitor progress and adjust treatment plans.Diagnostics & Labs: Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as blood panels, X-rays, and ECGs.Prescription & Administration: Prescribe appropriate medications and administer treatments (oral, IM, or IV).Specialist Escalation: Identify when a patient’s condition exceeds general scope and facilitate referrals to internal medicine sub-specialists.✂️ Surgical Ward ResponsibilitiesPre-Operative Prep: Prepare patients for surgery, obtain informed consent, and ensure pre-op lab work and clearance are complete.Surgical Assisting: Scrub in to assist specialist surgeons or perform low-complexity, minor surgical procedures depending on local credentialing.Post-Operative Monitoring: Monitor vital signs, manage surgical drains, and track input/output balance.Complication Management: Identify early post-operative complications like infections, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), or hemorrhage and initiate emergency stabilization.Discharge Planning: Remove sutures or staples, manage pain medication plans, and coordinate discharge summaries.🧸 Pediatric Ward ResponsibilitiesChildhood Illness Management: Diagnose and treat common acute pediatric conditions such as dehydration, gastroenteritis, bronchiolitis, and infections.Growth & Developmental Assessments: Monitor developmental milestones and track pediatric vital sign parameters.Parental Communication: Translate complex clinical findings into clear, empathetic updates for parents and caregivers.Emergency Triage: Stabilize critically ill or injured children in acute respiratory distress, febrile seizures, or shock before specialist handover.Weight-Based Dosing: Perform calculations for precise, weight-based pediatric medication dosages
