Head of Academic Standards at GEMS Al Barsha National School

Main Responsibilities:
- Play an active role in school strategic planning and self-review.
- Lead, develop, and manage teaching and learning, the curriculum, target-setting, assessment, tracking, recording, and reporting across the school.
- Significantly develop the curriculum in conjunction with senior and middle leaders and all teaching staff.
- Accountable for standards of attainment, progress, achievement, and behaviour; monitor and evaluate progress and determine further actions for improvement.
- Have an excellent working knowledge of the KHDA/DSIB UAE Inspection Framework and the new Education 33 Vision.

Skills Required:
- B.Ed or subject related degree and PGCE / PGDE or equivalent.
- Accredited educational leadership qualification such as NPQSL or NPQH.
- Proven experience in a leadership role within an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of the curriculum and teaching methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to improving student achievement and teacher performance.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, parents, and external stakeholders.
- Evidence of significant and continued professional development.
