Head of Faculty: Primary Arabic

Head of Primary Arabic required for August 2025

The English College, Dubai, seeks a positive, reflective and inspiring Head of Arabic to work in the Primary School for August 2025. The successful candidate will have a growth mindset and high expectations of all staff and students. They will be open and willing to learn; they will be expected to engage in professional learning with the mindset that everyone can always improve. We are seeking a professional who is passionate about encouraging students to grow and develop holistically – academically, emotionally, physically and socially. 

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, highly qualified and committed, with an excellent track record. The role of Head of Primary Arabic is a unique and incredibly rewarding leadership challenge and an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and forward thinking school, rated Outstanding by BSO (2022) and Very Good by DSIB (2024). Candidates who have a thorough and forensic knowledge and understanding of the DSIB framework and experience of leading a faculty through DSIB inspections would be at an advantage.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a creative approach to teaching and learning with the ability to inspire and motivate students with a diverse range of talents and abilities. They will demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, with the ability to lead, manage, and inspire a diverse team of excellent teachers. The postholder will lead the MOE subjects, Arabic A and B, across the Primary School. Candidates must have the necessary skills and vision to have the highest of expectations for all, using data to meet the needs of all learners, offering appropriate challenge and support where necessary. The successful candidate will be committed to developing extracurricular activities and fostering a love of Arabic across the school community.

Successful applicants will:

• Be honest, transparent and have integrity. 
• Have a good honours degree. 
• Hold a QTS or PGCE teaching qualification, preferably from the UK.
• Have a minimum of three years’ experience of teaching.
• Be able to provide an ICPC and a UK enhanced DBS or equivalent police check.
• Be professional in appearance and conduct
• Be willing to contribute to the wider curriculum and support the vision of the school
