We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and dynamic Head of Secondary with strong British Curriculum and GCSE experience to lead and inspire our secondary school division.

The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in driving academic excellence, maintaining high educational standards, and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Head of Secondary – British Curriculum (GCSE Experience)
Location: Shakhbout City, Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Secondary School section in alignment with the school’s vision, mission, and strategic objectives
  
• Ensure high standards of teaching, learning, assessment, and student achievement across the secondary phase
  
• Provide academic leadership for the British Curriculum, including GCSE programs and examination preparation
  
• Monitor curriculum implementation, lesson quality, and student progress to ensure outstanding educational outcomes
  
• Support and mentor teachers through coaching, professional development, and performance management
  
• Promote a positive, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment
  
• Work closely with senior leadership, department heads, teachers, parents, and students to support academic and pastoral success
  
• Analyze academic performance data and implement improvement plans where necessary
  
• Ensure compliance with ADEK requirements, school policies, safeguarding standards, and quality assurance procedures
  
• Lead curriculum planning, timetable coordination, and examination readiness
  
• Encourage innovation, digital learning, and best educational practices within the secondary school
  
• Foster strong communication and partnerships with parents and the wider school community
  
  
  

Requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or relevant subject area (Master’s Degree preferred)
  
• Teaching qualification such as PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent
  
• Minimum 5–8 years of teaching and leadership experience within a British Curriculum school
  
• Strong GCSE curriculum and assessment experience is essential
  
• Proven experience in academic leadership and school improvement initiatives
  
• Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  
• Strong understanding of ADEK regulations and inspection frameworks is preferred
  
• Ability to inspire, motivate, and lead teams effectively
