Head of Department (HOD) – Social Science / MSCS

Academic Year 2026–2027

Gulf Model School invites passionate and experienced educators to apply for the position of HOD – Social Science.

🔹 Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the Social Science Department (History, Geography, Political Science, Economics).

Ensure effective implementation of the CBSE curriculum and assessment standards.

Supervise, mentor, and evaluate teachers within the department.

Monitor lesson planning, curriculum delivery, and students’ academic progress.

Develop departmental improvement plans aligned with school goals.

Organize academic activities, projects, and exhibitions.

Ensure compliance with KHDA regulations and CBSE guidelines.

Coordinate with school leadership for continuous academic development.

🔹 Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Social Science or related specialization (History / Geography / Political Science / Economics).

Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) is mandatory.

Teaching license or eligibility approval (preferred).

Strong knowledge of CBSE curriculum framework.

Proficiency in English (spoken and written).

Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

Proficiency in MS Office and educational technology tools.

🔹 Experience:

Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in Social Science.

At least 2–3 years of experience in a leadership or coordinator role.

Experience in CBSE-affiliated schools (UAE experience preferred).

Proven track record of improving academic performance and leading a department successfully.

Experience in preparing for inspections (KHDA/CBSE) is an advantage.
