Inclusion Assistant (UAE National)

This role is exclusively for UAE Nationals seeking an Inclusion Assistant role.

Job Purpose:

The Inclusion Assistant plays a vital role in supporting students with additional needs to fully access the curriculum and participate in all aspects of school life. The Inclusion Assistant helps ensure that every student receives tailored support that promotes learning, independence, and well-being in an inclusive environment. To support pupils with additional learning needs, promoting their access to the curriculum and enabling them to make progress in line with their ability. The Inclusion Assistant is responsible for raising the standards of education attainment, of an individual student or/and a specific group of students.

Key Responsibilities:

Student Support

  • Provide direct support to students in overcoming barriers to learning, both in and outside the classroom.
  • Promote pupil achievement through the use of differentiated strategies tailored to individual needs.
  • Develop positive, supportive relationships with pupils to foster confidence, resilience, and independence.
  • Demonstrate initiative when supporting pupils, adapting to their varying emotional, social, and academic needs.

Inclusion and SEND Support

  • Support the implementation of strategies for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Understand and apply knowledge of a range of SEND to support learning and inclusion effectively.
  • Work with children and families to offer early intervention support, reducing the risk of long-term barriers to education.

Attendance and Engagement

  • Liaise with parents to follow up on student absences and promote regular attendance.
  • Work collaboratively with the Head of Inclusion to develop and implement attendance initiatives in line with school policy.
  • Build strong relationships with families to encourage a culture of engagement and support.

Safeguarding and Welfare

  • Attend safeguarding meetings and maintain up-to-date safeguarding training.
  • Follow all school policies and procedures regarding child protection and safeguarding.
  • Maintain professional records and detailed casework notes for individual students, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.

Communication and Partnership Working

  • Maintain daily communication with parents, carers, and external agencies to coordinate support for students.
  • Liaise with teaching staff, Head of Inclusion, and pastoral teams to ensure consistent support for each pupil.
  • Contribute to review meetings and provide updates on student progress and well-being.

Professional Conduct and Contribution to School Life

  • Be a visible and proactive presence in the school community, supporting events, routines, and initiatives.
  • Represent the school positively by modeling respectful and professional behavior at all times.
  • Maintain the highest standards of discretion and confidentiality in all aspects of the role.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Special Education or Bachelor’s degree in Special Education.

OR

  • Bachelor’s in any discipline with 1 year of experience working with students with additional needs.

Experience:

  • Minimum one year experience in supporting children with additional needs in a school setting.

Skills:

  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Be computer literate and competent in a range of Microsoft and web-based programs
