The Lead Mechanical Engineer (Static) will be responsible for overseeing the design, installation, and maintenance of static equipment in industrial plants. They will lead a team of engineers, ensure compliance with engineering standards and regulations, and provide technical expertise to solve complex mechanical engineering problems. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a comprehensive knowledge of static equipment design and operation.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the design and engineering of static equipment, such as pressure vessels, storage tanks, and heat exchangers.
- Lead a team of mechanical engineers and designers.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to solve complex mechanical engineering problems.
- Review and approve engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications.
- Collaborate with other disciplines, such as process and structural engineering, to develop integrated solutions.
- Conduct technical studies and analysis to optimize equipment performance and reliability.
- Monitor project progress and ensure timely delivery of engineering deliverables.
- Provide mentorship and training to junior engineers.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Professional engineering license.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on static equipment design.
- Strong knowledge of codes and standards, such as ASME, API, and TEMA.
- Proficiency in engineering software and design tools.
