We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Manager to oversee our Maternal Newborn and Labour unit. The ideal candidate will be a registered nurse with a strong background in maternal and newborn care, along with proven leadership skills. As the Nurse Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, maintaining compliance with regulations, and managing a team of nurses and support staff. You will collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans, as well as participate in the development of policies and procedures for the unit. Additionally, you will be involved in staff training, performance evaluations, and fostering a positive work environment. Candidates should have strong communication skills, be detail-oriented, and demonstrate a passion for providing exceptional care to patients and their families. Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the Maternal Newborn and Labour unit.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Manage department budgets and resources effectively.
- Monitor and evaluate patient outcomes and quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
- Act as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Participate in strategic planning and goal setting for the unit.
- Stay current on best practices and trends in maternal newborn and labour nursing.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent required.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience in Maternal Newborn or Labor and Delivery.
- Previous leadership or management experience preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
