DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assume quality of care for all patients.
- Adheres to the highest standards of practice, ethics, and professionalism at all times.Â
- Perform complete eye examination, contact lens fittings and necessary.Â
- Participate in the control of and supervision of optometry practice and dispensary in conjunction with the Medical Director and Head of the Department.Â
- Keep current with new techniques and philosophies related to all aspects of optometry field.Â
- Participate in quality assurance committee meetings provider meetings, and general staff meetings.Â
- Assist the Head of the Department in establishing medical polices, quality improvement procedures, evaluating current practices, policies and procedures.
- Maintains current knowledge of operation procedures and maintenance of new equipment.
OSH ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
General:
- Comply with reasonable OSH instructions, policies and safe working proceduresÂ
- Use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems.Â
- Be familiar with emergency and evacuation proceduresÂ
- Not willfully or recklessly endanger anyone’s health and safetyÂ
- Assist with the preparation of risk assessmentsÂ
- Report OSH Hazards, incidents, Near misses and issuesÂ
- Reduce, Reuse, Recycling of waste as much as possibleÂ
- Attend all OSH Trainings, awareness programs and mock drills.Â
- Participates in the OSHMS audits, inspections, ensuring standards are maintained
Specific:
- Ensure (OSHAD, DOH, FNAR and NMCSH policy/procedures) Laser Protection guidelines and requirements are applied at all times, for the protection of patients, staff and general public.
- Ensure that all equipment’s are maintain safely.
BCP ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsibilities of staff (including all contractors) are:
- Achieving an adequate level of general awareness regarding business continuity Being aware of the contents of their service areas disaster recovery plan and any specific role or responsibilities allocated.
- Participating actively in the business continuity programme when required
- Ensuring information governance standards continue to be applied to data and information during an incident

- Adhere to information systems policies and procedures as required by Health Care Organization.
- Ensure that documentation in the health record reflects accuracy, integrity and authenticity

- Follow security and privacy policies and procedures to the use of networks, including intranet and Internet.
- Follow confidentiality and security measures to protect electronic health information.
- Maintain data integrity and validity within an information system.
- Report any possible breaches of confidentiality in accordance with organizational policies.
Health Information/Data Technical Security:
- Apply departmental and organizational data and information system security policies
Basic Computer Literacy Skills:
- Use basic word processing, spreadsheet and desktop presentation applications as applicable to your work.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Windows operating environment.
- Demonstrate use of email, addressing, forwarding, attachments, netiquette.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATION, LICENSURE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SPECIAL SKILLS
- A graduate of Bachelors of Science in Optometry or its equivalent (diploma).
- At least two (2) years of experience.
- Currently licensed in country of origin and with DOH license to practice in Al Ain UAE.Â
- Fluent in spoken & written English, Arabic language is desirable, but not essential.
