Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Specialist Paedodontist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing exceptional preventive and therapeutic oral healthcare to infants, children, and adolescents — including those with special healthcare needs. This role involves direct collaboration with the Medical Director and other healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality pediatric dental care.
Required Qualifications:
· MDS in Pediatric Dentistry (or equivalent)
· BDS, DMD, DDS or equivalent
· Completion of a one-year internship
· Minimum of 3 years clinical experience post-qualification
· Holder of DHA and/or DOH license
· Strong interpersonal, coordination, and problem-solving skills
· Patient-focused, with sensitivity and empathy, especially with children
· Proficient in English and Arabic
· Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office
· 2–3 years of pediatric dental experience in the UAE (preferably)
· Familiarity with UAE health laws, regulations, and insurance processes (preferably)
Key Responsibilities:
· Deliver comprehensive oral health services for children and adolescents, including those with medical, physical, or emotional challenges
· Educate and counsel patients and parents on preventive oral health practices
· Diagnose and treat carious and traumatized primary and young permanent teeth
· Perform restorative procedures, fabricate space maintainers, and prepare crowns as required
· Perform treatments under nitrous oxide sedation or GA
· Respond to pediatric dental emergencies and manage acute oral conditions
· Provide treatment under pharmacological sedation when necessary
· Adhere strictly to infection control protocols
· Implement individual and community-based prevention programs
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and obtain informed consent for procedures
· Collaborate with general dentists, specialists, and allied health professionals
· Prescribe medications and ensure proper post-operative care and follow-up
· Participate in the training and supervision of dental staff and junior clinicians
· Ensure all dental equipment and tools are in optimal condition
· Comply with all legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements, including patient confidentiality and safeguarding policies
