Gems Modern Academy is seeking a dynamic and innovative Psychology Teacher (ICSE & IB) to join our passionate team of educators.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of psychological theories, research methods, and ethical practices, as well as experience in guiding students through the ICSE and IB curriculam and supporting adolescent mental health and well-being.
In a Psychology class and counselling setting, each student embarks on their unique journey of self-discovery and academic growth, engaging with psychological inquiry and personal development frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Psychology to middle and high school students following the ICSE and IB frameworks, incorporating inquiry-based learning and critical analysis into lesson planning and delivery.
- Foster an environment where students engage with authentic psychological research, case studies, and real-world applications of behavioural science.
- Facilitate student-led inquiry and exploration, guiding each student through the study of human behaviour while promoting independent thinking, ethical reasoning, and analytical skills.
- Provide personalized academic support and feedback to students as they develop their understanding of psychological concepts, ensuring growth in both theoretical knowledge and research competencies.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate psychological principles across the curriculum and promote interdisciplinary learning experiences, as well as work with parents and staff on student welfare strategies.
- Stay updated on current trends in psychology education and adolescent counselling, continuously seeking professional development opportunities to enhance teaching and therapeutic practices.

Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Counselling, or a related field.
- Teaching certification/license in Psychology or relevant subject area.
- Certification or diploma in School Counselling or Guidance.
- Previous experience teaching Psychology within ICSE and/or IB curricula, preferably with experience as a school counsellor.
- Strong understanding of psychological theories, research methods, ethical guidelines, and counselling techniques, with the ability to communicate these concepts effectively to students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for mentoring, guiding, and inspiring young learners in both academic and personal contexts.
- Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued, supported, and empowered to thrive emotionally and academically.
